Awkwafina
Awkwafina was an American performer and actor who made her name with innovative raps which addressed gender and ethnic identities from a the most comical of perspectives. Her career then grew to Hollywood. Nora Lum began her musical journey as a trumpet player. She was born in Forest Hills Queens, she was the daughter of Chinese immigrants and Koreans. Also, she received classical and jazz training later becoming a hip-hop teenager. While at school, she studied journalism as well as women's studies, and was taking classes in Mandarin in Beijing during a brief time. Her focus shifted to music only after she completed her degree. In 2012, My Vag (as a retort to Mickey Avalon's My Dick) became an internet hit and was included in her debut LP Yellow Ranger. The album featured other popular hits, including the body positive Queef as well as the cheeky hometown tour NYC Bitche$1. The last track was closely linked to Awkwafina's NYC travel guide, published in 2015. After a successful career as a singer She decided to take on the role of actor. In addition to early shows such as Girl Code and Tawk she was also featured in movies like Neighbors 2 Storks as well as Bad Rap. She had a breakthrough role in 2018 with a few notable films like Dude Ocean's 8 as well as Crazy Rich Asians. In June, she debuted her new EP "In Fina We Trust".
